I'd love to have the time to catch up on a year or more of key Carruthers Family moments, and maybe I'll do a kind of year in review in December (if I haven't forgotten how to blog again), but for now, this weekend is all I can manage. Very bitter sweet in that I got the biggest smiles ever from my little nephew, Caleb, when I said goodbye to him (charming - he was obviously delighted to see me go!) after taking him and Kirsty up to their in-laws in Kings Lynn yesterday. We've had them in Norwich for a whole month while the purchase of their flat has been going through and it has been wonderful for us to have them so close instead of a two hour drive away. Kirsty and I have been able to "hang out" (euphemism for shopping, Costa creamy chocolate cooler and a cake) on my day off each week, the little ones have been able to help feed, bath, change caleb and it's all been wonderful. I'll miss them. The pain of leaving them in Kings Lynn was exacerbated by the fact that on getting the last of the baby's things out of the back of the car, i retreated carefully out on hands and knees and didn't notice that my trouser leg had gone over the tow bar. So when I went to walk off, the car held on tight and I landed not very gracefully on my butt with my right hand breaking my fall. Which now hurts to grip or rotate. If you're right handed try brushing your teeth with your left - go on, it's fun. Not!
But before all the drama we went down to our favourite pumpkin patch at Hill Farm, Crostwick, and Sam and Caitlin had great fun selecting their pumpkins. Not for them the ones already picked and displayed conveniently on a flatbed trailer. Oh no. We had to get the wheelbarrow and go into yonder field. And get very muddy!

We always time it a bit too late, so a lot of the pumpkins were picked already but we still had plenty to choose from! Caitlin has picked a great one here!

Not to be outdone...

It's like playing Where's Wally when Sam and Caitlin run off in a pumpkin field!

So the little ones are in jumpers and wellies and Steve is in his usual attire!

Lovely pictures! Looking forward to more frequent updates :-)
